State-of-the-art “Cloud Token Processing”

Reduce costs and improve customer experience while keeping sensitive payment data secure

Network Tokens

The Cybersource Token Management Service links tokens from various service providers, payment methods, and channels for merchants, acquirers, and technology partners. It creates a unified token identifier to centralize the management of all tokens. This also protects confidential payment data stored in secure data centers of the card schemes (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc.).

Primary Account Numbers (PANs) are the 15- or 16-digit numbers found on every credit or debit card. A card’s PAN is widely accepted by many businesses, which facilitates online transactions. However, this also makes PANs valuable to fraudsters who use them for unauthorized purchases, making consumers more vulnerable to stolen cards and businesses to data breaches. Therefore, payment gateway providers use tokenization. This replaces confidential PAN information with a non-confidential string that can only be used by the business that received the card. This process allows businesses to remain PCI compliant while reducing the risk of data breaches, as tokens cannot be used by fraudsters if stolen.

Network Tokens are payment credentials that can replace PANs for online purchases. Nxt-Travel collaborates with card networks such as Visa, Mastercard, and American Express to replace a user’s PAN repository with Network Tokens and manage them to remain current, even if the underlying card data changes. For example, if a customer loses their card, Nxt-Travel is notified by the respective network and updates the token directly, allowing it to continue functioning without the customer having to update their payment information.

Network Tokens are payment credentials specific to a particular card-merchant pair and are used as a substitute for a card’s Primary Account Number (PAN).

Businesses are constantly striving to ensure secure payments that simultaneously maximize conversion rates and enhance the customer experience. Network Tokens help achieve these goals. They are a new and revolutionary way to process card payments, as they help make customer payment data more secure, while simultaneously increasing the number of successful authorizations, providing a seamless customer experience, and reducing costs for merchants.
